For some reason I can’t get my wish list to update or remove items… is there some place in particular I can look to see if I’ve deleted something I needed? My form code looks identical to the original plugin…January 13, 2012 at 5:18 am #9039sarahmorrowParticipant
actually, I dont think the send to a friend is working either..February 24, 2012 at 12:54 am #9104
I have just purchased this plugin to find it effectively doesn’t work either 🙁 Fortunately, with a little bit of hacking I have managed to restore the expected functionality… basically, in the file /templates/wpsc-account_wishlist.php the code references an object variable $favourite->id All I had to do was change that to $favourite->ID throughout the file and it works
I’m not overly chuffed about having to hack a paid for plugin to make it work though… the time I spent debugging cost me more than the plugin.February 24, 2012 at 2:03 am #9106
and in order to get the send to a friend email working all you have to do is change lines 226 and 367 from global $wpdb; to global $wpdb, $wpsc_at; in the same fileFebruary 24, 2012 at 6:09 am #9108baseofficialParticipant
Thanks a million for these fixes, you’re heaven sent.February 26, 2012 at 9:41 am #9118amy_onealParticipant
I only have wpsc-account-wishlist.php in this location
I added your fix to that, but do not know what to do with the next one for email. You say lines 226 and 367 in the same file?
my wpsc-account_wishlist.php only has 70 lines.February 26, 2012 at 10:35 am #9119amy_onealParticipant
I think figured it out, the only file with that code at lines 226 and 367 is add-to-wishlist.php in the main wishlist plugin folder.
I did update this and my wishlist says message sent, but they are not received. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks so much for posting these fixes jackharrybill.
I can’t believe Michael is selling it still when it is this broken, this thread is 6 weeks old alone.February 26, 2012 at 8:15 pm #9120
Sorry, amy_oneal you are quite right… the first fix should be applied to /templates/store/wpsc-account_wishlist.php and the second to add-to-wishlist.php in the main wishlist plugin folder. I was a bit pushed for time when I posted these fixes. If the plugin now tells you the message is being sent then the code that is sending them should be being executed. Try adding the following to line 535 from
$message = __( ‘Your message has been sent. Send another?’, ‘wpsc_at’ );
$message = __( ‘Your message has been sent. Send another?’.$wpsc_friend_email, ‘wpsc_at’ );
this should print out the email address that the message should be sent to… if there is no email address printed out after the ‘Your message has been sent. Send another?’ then there is a problem elsewhere, otherwise do the usual checks of spam filters your end.
Just noticed too that the email will be sent from the address it is being sent to… I suspect that line 534 should read
wp_mail( $wpsc_friend_email, $wpsc_email_subject, $wpsc_email_body, “From: ” . $wpsc_your_email );
I too am none too happy about paying for a plugin that doesn’t work at all and that requires me to spend hours debugging to even approach the functionality I paid forApril 10, 2012 at 2:37 am #9237AnonymousInactive
I’m with you, jackharrybill. I’m none too happy as well. Update and remove don’t work for me either, and the fix you gave for that has evidently already been applied to the files I got with purchase today. I haven’t started looking at the send email function at all, since that one isn’t the deal-breaker that being able to update the wishlist item is. This plugin was purchased for a jewelry store, and it’s perfectly useless if a person can get sizes and other preferences added.
How about a fix on this from Visser, I ask?April 10, 2012 at 2:47 am #9238AnonymousInactive
Hoo boy! This gets odder. First, apologies on the remove part. That actually is working, And update works to the extent that I can update my test wishlist to a quantity of 5 rings (the item I added), but even though the size, finish and materials dropdowns display, making selections in these doesn’t stick on update. Again, this is useless for the jewelry shop I need it for, and I can’t see how it would be workable for most online stores. Most items need variations for color, size or whatever. Does anybody have any help on this?April 25, 2012 at 9:11 am #9357Michael VisserKeymaster
Hi guys, an update including Variations support (e.g. size, finish, materials) is on the roadmap for a future Plugin update.
I’m working to understand how this works and the best way to store variation details as part of the wishlist once I’ve added Variation support in Product Importer Deluxe.August 20, 2012 at 10:21 am #9760AnonymousInactive
Is there any indication when the variation support will be available? I agree that this plugin is totally useless without it. A customer needs to be able to select sizes and colors for their wishlist.
