I’m having the same problem. I’ve sent two emails, but no reply, so I figured I post here too. I purchased the plugin and… nothing. It’s installed, activated, and that’s it. It’s nowhere to be found and no related products are showing up. Please advise both me and libaizhuo what we can do to fix this… Or if we can get a refund.
Thanks!
Ya this is really disappointing, I really do hope it’s going to work because this is what I promised my client! Please would anyone help us on this? Many many thanks!
Hi libaizhuo, can you please contact me directly as I’ll look into this with you.
Hi icelandicody, I’ve been away in New Zealand for the long weekend so have come back to a mountain of e-mail, I’ll be working through these in the coming few days; there’s a few! Please feel free to contact me again as I answer the most immediate messages first 🙂
I just purchased, downloaded and installed the Related Products plug-in and am not seeing any new options in the Products. Your help would be greatly appreciated!
Perhaps I misunderstood how this plugin works. I was under the impression that you could select which related products you wanted to appear for each product. Right now, on my single product pages I am getting all related products displaying that are in that same product category.
Hi libaizhuo, I’ve completely overhauled how Products are selected and added a comprehensive feature for manually selecting related Products. Check out 1.6, I’m confident it will not disappoint for those wishing to manually select related Products. 🙂
When I tick “Disregard Related Products for this product” and publish the page – it shows a list of random products for that category – I would have assumed nothing would show?
Also, when nothing is ticked – by default it shows related products within the category (plus a duplicate of the product currently being viewed). Is it possible to show nothing? Unless specified to view random products from the category?
Hi fleximoronx, I’m looking to change the way this ‘disregard…’ option works; I had intended it to mean ignore any manual selections. I’ll change the current “Disregard Related Products for this product” to “Disregard manual Related Products” and make the “Disregard Related Products for this product” hide Related Products on that Product. Thoughts?
How about adding an option in Store > Upgrades > Related Products
Where the user can tick or untick – “Enable auto generate related products”. Meaning, by default, based on their option – the related products will be displayed automatically or not whenever you add a new product.
Some of my clients would like to have related products based on their selection and not auto-generated for that category. This option would also eliminate having to tick the “disregard related products for this product” everytime they add a new product.
I love the new section that allows me to check which products I want to have related. But I’m having an issue: when i check a few products that I want related, then later change my mind and un-check those products; it doesn’t update. I still see the same related products on the site. And the checks are still checked in WordPress. I also tried un-checking the few products and checking “Disregard related products”. Doing this updates the checks in WordPress so that the few products are no longer checked, but when I go to the live site, the same related products still appear. Any thoughts?
Hi sburgiani, make sure if you later ‘uncheck’ the items you do check “Disregard Related Products for this Product”, this will take it back to the original automatically generated items. I’ll reword this in the next release as it’s confusing.
Hi fleximoronx, you’re on. It’ll be in the next release… soon as there’s a public beta of WP e-Commerce 3.8 I’ll have to get these Plugins over to the new system!
