What it does

Stop spam orders, fake orders, and repeat problem buyers at checkout.

Checkout Guard blocks spam orders, fake orders, and the customers you already know cause trouble. Add an email, a first name, a last name, or any combination, and Checkout Guard denies the order the moment that customer tries to check out. No payment is attempted. No order is created. Your store stays clean.

Most WooCommerce fraud prevention plugins are built for risk scoring at scale. They run IP lookups, call external APIs, and ask you to configure rules. That is overkill when the real problem is one chargeback abuser, one wave of fake orders from a bogus address pattern, or one customer support has flagged twice already. Checkout Guard is the tool for that job. Block a customer, write a note about why, and move on.

It was built internally for the Visser Labs store and is now packaged as a standalone plugin. The plugin behind it has been load-tested against the same WooCommerce checkout flow our team uses every day.

Common use cases

When you need Checkout Guard.

Five scenarios where a simple block list beats a full fraud-prevention stack.

Repeat chargeback or refund abusers

A buyer who has filed a chargeback or abused refunds once will often try again. Block their email and they cannot place a new order.

Spam order waves

When one email pattern or name is hitting your store with bogus orders, add it to Checkout Guard and stop the loop before it costs you in failed-payment fees.

Fake orders from suspicious accounts

Mismatched billing and shipping, addresses that fail validation, names that do not match the country. Block the customer and move on with your day.

Problem customers escalated from support

Abusive, threatening, or repeatedly fraudulent buyers. Add them to Checkout Guard once and they cannot order from you again.

Test and staff orders

Keep test buyers and internal staff orders off your live order count and reporting. Block their email during testing, remove it later if you want.

Checkout Guard is built for the times you just need to stop one specific person from ordering.

How it helps

Everything you need to block a customer.

A focused toolset that does one job, with nothing extra to configure.

Block by email, name, or both

Add an email address, a first name, a last name, or any combination. Either field is enough. The order is denied the moment that customer reaches checkout, logged in or as a guest.

Block by first or last name
Catches guest checkouts too

Set the message blocked customers see

You write the denial message shown at checkout. Keep it neutral or keep it firm. Your store, your wording. The block happens before payment is attempted, so it works with every gateway you run.

Manage everything from one admin list

Add, edit, and remove blocked entries from a single screen under WooCommerce. Leave an internal note on each one so you, or your team, remember exactly why, even months later.

How it works

Three steps from install to block.

No setup wizard. No rules to configure. The whole plugin is about adding entries to a list.

Install Checkout Guard

Upload the plugin to your WooCommerce store, activate it, and paste your license key. You will see a new Checkout Guard menu under WooCommerce.

Add a blocked entry

Enter an email address, a first name, a last name, or any combination. Add an internal note so you remember the context. Save.

The customer is denied at checkout

That customer cannot place an order. They see the custom denial message you set. No payment is attempted, no order is created.

Pricing

Simple, flat pricing.

One plan. Everything included. No surprises.

FAQ

Common questions about Checkout Guard.

Everything else worth knowing before you buy. Still stuck? We're happy to help.

What does a blocked customer see at checkout? The customer sees the custom denial message you set in Checkout Guard. The order does not go through. You decide the wording, which means you can keep it neutral or firm depending on the situation.

Can I block a customer by email only, without a name?Yes. Email alone is enough to block. You can also block by first name, last name, or both. Any single field is enough for Checkout Guard to deny the order.

Does Checkout Guard block guest checkouts?Yes. Checkout Guard checks the name and email entered at checkout, regardless of whether the customer is logged in or buying as a guest.

Will blocking a customer cancel their existing orders? No. Existing orders are not touched. Checkout Guard only stops new orders from being placed by anyone whose email or name matches an entry on your block list.

Does Checkout Guard work with all payment gateways?Yes. The block happens at the WooCommerce checkout layer before payment is attempted, so it works with every payment gateway you have configured.

Can I add a note explaining why someone was blocked?Yes. Every blocked entry supports an internal note. Use it to record why you blocked the customer so your future self or your team has the context.

Is Checkout Guard a full fraud prevention tool? No, and that is the point. Checkout Guard is a simple WooCommerce fraud prevention utility for blocking specific customers you already know about. It does not score risk, call external APIs, or run a rules engine. If you need IP intelligence and risk scoring, look at FraudLabs Pro or YITH Anti-Fraud. If you need a block list, Checkout Guard is what you want.

How is Checkout Guard different from a WooCommerce blacklist plugin? Most WooCommerce blacklist plugins focus on IP blocking or anti-spam comment filtering. Checkout Guard is purpose-built for the WooCommerce checkout. It blocks by customer identity (email or name) at the moment an order is placed, with a custom message and admin-managed list.
