Nevermind, just realised the plug-in does in fact do this, my mistake. I had the paypal gateway still switched on.

I do have another issue though, if a user makes an order and in the same session returns to makes another order – on the checkout page the credit card field is pre-populated with the truncated CC number. If the user submits the form with the truncated number then the email that sends the CC details has X–X as the CC number.
