Unfortunately Facebook Like only supports light/dark styling. Try switching between the two to see which works best for you.
Facebook Like Button comes with a Quick Start document (readme.txt) to help with installing the Plugin. Additional support can be found from the Contact page or methods below.
If you find yourself needing immediate support for your purchase use the Premium Support page or Live Support button.
When you register you can easily:
Hello Michael,
Is it possible to link the Like button’s plugin on my online shop to my Facebook page? So when people “like” the product its also appears on facebook page.
Thank you.
Hi Hans – thanks for your comment. I don’t believe it’s currently possible to do this as Facebook only supports ‘liking’ a webpage, but not linking that webpage to a Facebook page.
Hi
This problem was reported below but there doesn’t seem to be any resolution to it. I want to turn the Facebook Like button on for the product details pages only. But it appears you can only have it on in both Product Category and Details page or off on both.
Any chance this will get resolved ?
Thanks
Hi Kieran, I’ve just pushed a minor Plugin update that should sort this position and view control issue once and for all. PLease let me know how it goes and configure the Plugin under Settings > Facebook Like Button within the WordPress Administration. 🙂
isn’t it possible to use both Facebook and Google plus plugins?
Hi kristoffer, sure is. You can enable both Facebook Like Button and Google +1 Button. 🙂
yes, but if I do so only Facebook shows up…. check luffshop.com and click one of the products to see what I mean. Both plugins are enabled – and If I disable Facebook, the google+ icon appears…
Both appears on the product pages, but I’ve chosen only to display them on single products since they screwed up the grid view in my storefront theme
And another thing.
The thumbnail shown on Facebook is the content in my site footer and not the product image… the description isn’t shown either…
Hi kristoffer, I’ve got Facebook and Google +1 appearing on both the Products Page and Single Product template under WP e-Commerce 3.8.6. Let me push the latest Plugin update out and see if it sorts your issue, if it is still out I may require access to spot what’s going on.
Hmmm… okay. After the update neither google go Facebook shows. Where should I send access info;) ?
Hi kristoffer, I’m in damage control as you read this. WP e-Commerce 3.8.6 has a bug in the wpsc_is_single_product() which I’m now applying a fix across the suite.
If this issue is sorted in 3.8.7 I’ll switch back to using wpsc_is_single_product() for detecting the single Product template.
Great plugin, I have a problem, the single product image dont show in fb, just a link. Can yo help me? Any idea?
Thanks
Hi Lia, I’ve got no problem displaying the Facebook Like button on the Products Page and Product detail page in WP e-Commerce 3.8. Try re-installing. 🙂
Hey Michael,
I couldn’t find my post on here, so I’m starting a new one. Just wanted to touch base to see how the migration is coming along and if you’ve had a chance yet to make the plugin https-friendly?
Thanks!
Chris
Good day Michael!
Just thought I’d drop by to see if this was still a possibility. Wanted to check before I looked elsewhere!
Thanks!
Chris
Hi Chris, pushing out a Plugin update in the morning adding support for this in Facebook Like Button as well as Facebook Share; very little internet along the Laos/Thailand border! 🙂
Sounds good! Enjoy your trip!
you can insert in your wspc-single_product.php file the following code :
<link rel="image_src" href="”/>
and then, your product thumbnail will be displayed on facebook instead of a random gif or jpeg file present in your page 🙂
Hey shadeone!
Thanks for the input. It’s late and I’ve been buried in website updates all day long. I can’t, for the life of me right now, figure out what to put inside the “”. Can you point me in a general generic direction where thumbnails are stored?
Thanks!
Chris
Alright, scratch that. I found it:
/public_html/SITENAME/wp-content/uploads/wpsc/product_images/thumbnails
but how does the plugin know which thumbnail to grab? I test it, and no image shows up.
I’ll have a play with this too, if I get it working I’ll include it in the next Plugin update; makes it easy for all concerned 🙂
You da man, man! lol
Hi, I installed the plugin and the like button shows on both product and single product page. Tried making it visible on the single product page using the settings under presentation but this won’t work. Either it shows on both or it’s not showing on both. Any suggestions?
Also I would like to only show the button not the text to the right…
thanks
Hi Freddie, just to confirm, are you using the Presentation controls under Store > Facebook Like Button in WP e-Commerce 3.7 or using the default Facebook like feature now included in WP e-Commerce 3.8?
Either way you cannot hide the text that appears to the right as this is part of template generated by Facebook.
Hi Michael, thanks for your response.
I’m using WP e-Commerce 3.7.8. And I’ve been using the presentation controls under settings>facebook like button…
Under store>marketing>marketing settings.. you can choose to show a “share this” button. but no Like button..
Ok I see what you mean with the text to the right of the button and that’s fine.
However, the way its showing on my products page I rather not have it show there. And only have it showing on each of the single product pages.
Thanks
hi there,
GREAT plugin – thanks alot!
One question: Is it possible to chance the likebutton to button-count instead?
The text “be the first to like….” I would really like to get rid of!
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Hi,
is it possible to change somehow the font-color of the facebook-plugin?s text?
Hi Vivianne, unfortunately Facebook Like only supports light/dark styling, try switching between the two to see which works best for you.
thanks for the fast answer.
is that dependent to facebook or the plugin?
Facebook, my Plugin just gives Facebook what it needs, they do the rest of the magic.
Hello Michael Visser,
It seems that there is a problem with the Facebook’s API and not the plugin. If you view source, the returned URL to plug into the iframe is correct but Facebook is not showing the correct product somehow.
You can check my test site http://kelvin-lew.com/onlineboutique to see
Hey Kelvin, I liked the page below and found that it ignored the ‘&’ property of the link so really I liked the Products Page rather than an individual Product, I’ll do some reading on whether that character needs to be encoded into something else…
