Details
Out of the box WP e-Commerce 3.8 allows store owners to configure download-limits against Product downloads, Download Expiry enhances this functionality to also support date-based expiry of Product downloads.
This Plugin is ideal for store owners offering:
- Software lockers where customers can download backups of their purchase at any time
- Stock multimedia vendors and creative authors, be that images, music and/or video
- Subscription services allowing unlimited access to purchased Product downloads
This means you can sell a Product download and the file can be downloaded as many times as the customer desires until the Product download expires, be that 3/6/12/24 hours after purchase, a week, a month or even years!
WP e-Commerce Compatibility
- WP e-Commerce 3.7 support coming soon
- WP e-Commerce 3.8 ready (up to 3.13.*)

Is there a way to reset the date/time limit on an existing order? I also need to do this on the download count limit, but that seems outside the scope of this plugin…
I also need to have both count and time limits set. Is there any update on the plugin to allow setting both limits? Thank you.
Hey Rick – great idea. We’ll look at incorporating this into our Edit Orders / Manual Orders plugin.
Hi Michael,
I really like your work (especially your fast response and great support here and at the WPEC forum). I’m keen to try this plugin (Download Expiry), but have had some bad experiences recently with the premium plugins I bought at Getshopped.org. I paid, didn’t get them to work, asked for support, didn’t get it, asked for a refund and am still waiting for my money back.
What is your own policy on this? It’s a but risky buying something without being able to test it.
Hi nadworks, thanks for your kind words. My support and refund policy was recently laid out in clear view on LinkedIn. Here’s me quoting myself. 😉
[…] Coming from my own experiences with customers who report Plugin issues I get as much information as needed and jump in to investigate and resolve the issue there and then, once things are sorted 99% of the time they’re rapped and merrily go on their way, if not, I consider offering free Plugins or refunding the purchase. It’s better to lose a few bucks than lose a customer.
Excellent! You’ve convinced me. Thanks, Michael.
Great to read this. I wish the guys at Instinct had that kind of attitude, too.
I would like to test on localhost before use. Do I need 2 licenses?
Hi PJ, not at all. Licenses are required only for live sites, development sites do not require unique licenses 🙂
what is support forum will charge you extra for it???? We are insterted in purchsing download expiry.
Hi Sutafa, access to the Support Forum is included in the Plugin purchase. Hit the link above to view the Support Forum and Add to Cart to proceed to Checkout. 🙂
