Today I published Product Importer Deluxe for WP e-Commerce 1.8.
Inside this release I’ve added support for selecting a custom CSV delimiter and as well as Plugin update notifications within the Plugins page (thanks John for the idea). This will mean no more swapping out the comma for a squiggle character within PHP files.
My next goal is to provide a reliable method of distributing updates of all my Premium Plugins, I’ll likely use PayPal’s Transaction ID as a critical part in this feature for the Shop. As always please contribute any feature requests/ideas and I’ll see what I can do!
As a follow up to my previous WordPress Plugin announcement, both Product Importer Standard for WP e-Commerce and Nuke WP e-Commerce are now WordPress Plugins!
Included are a few snapshots of the newly migrated solutions for WP e-Commerce, more are on the way in the form of migrations and brand spanking new solutions; Manual Order for WP e-Commerce and a few surprises.
All future solutions will be exclusively built as WordPress Plugins and stay clear of core WP e-Commerce Plugin files making them upgrade safe. Check out the snapshots below:
I like WordPress Page Templates, they’re predictable, and in my solutions that’s desirable. Unfortunately taking this path meant a steeper learning curve for first-time WordPress site owners and limitations in how far I could ‘test’ customers to follow the dotted line in each solution’s Readme. This road has ended, and so my first WordPress Plugin is Product Importer Deluxe v1.6
It’s got all the goodness of previous releases only now it lives in the Settings tab of your WordPress Administration and means I can push forward with adding support for the new kid moving in soon; WP e-Commerce 3.8. I’ve tested this Plugin with WordPress 3.0-beta2 so early adopters can rest assured my solutions will keep up with WordPress. Here’s some screenshots of the new release.
Download it now from the Product details page for Product Importer Deluxe or from the download link in your purchase receipt.
Mass Product Importer Deluxe for WP e-Commerce has ticked over to 0.4, including the following changes:
- Fixed automatic creation of thumbnails and tested extensively
- Added support for detection of WordPress table prefixing using $wpdb->prefix
- Fixed ‘Start over’ feature to empty WP e-Commerce tables
In previous versions some users – including myself at times – were encountering a ‘blank’ page after assigning an image against each Product to be imported, I have worked hard to eliminate this issue. Please test and report any encounters in the Mass Product Importer support forum; now powered by bbPress!
In case it hasn’t been pointed out already my importer supports Quantity On Hand within WP e-Commerce setting the limited quantity and quantity volume as well as File downloads for electronic delivery of selected Products.
Also to note, I have tested the importer to ensure support with the latest release of WordPress – 2.9.2 – and the latest beta release of WP e-Commerce; 3.7.6 RC4
Please download the latest version by opening the My Downloads page as a logged-in customer or using the download link in your original purchase receipt.
As always thank you for supporting my work, if you have any ideas for future versions please include them in the comments below.
I’m on a roll this week, Product Importer Deluxe for WP e-Commerce has gone from 0.1.0 to 0.3.0, now with support for bulk import of electronic downloads. Hooah!
I acted on a suggestion this morning (thanks Sunny) and am eager to hear feedback from this latest release aimed at e-retailers selling electronic downloads. Visit the Product details page for Product Importer Deluxe.
I’ve been meaning to publish a table/diagram illustrating what data fields my Mass Product Importer solution supports and what’s in queue.
I’ll be updating this post regularly as I introduce new support for WP e-Commerce Product and Product meta fields.
If you think I have missed a Product-related field which should be listed please let me know in the comments below.
Update: Updated on 10 October, 2011 to reflect support for new fields.

Product Importer Deluxe for WP e-Commerce. Today I finished the internal theme files for the importer removing any dependence on the store’s WordPress themes to display the importer correctly. Included below are some screenshots to review:
