Plugin update: Custom Fields – 1.4.4

Hi WPER’ers, the 1.4.4 Plugin update adds a few more Custom Field Type’s including checkbox and radio lists. This means you can now configure the list options for these Type’s and from the Add/Edit Products page simply hit the option rather than manually filling the default input field, pretty cool huh.

After working with Jigoshop and WooCommerce I’m bringing our labels in line with the other e-Commerce platforms so have changed references from Custom Fields to Attributes. You will now find the Attributes page under Products > Attributes.

In the next major Plugin update we’ll be migrating from custom Post meta over to custom Post Terms so we can better harness the WordPress Terms engine both within the WordPress Administration and on the storefront. I’ll be working with a few Plugin users to understand how this Plugin is being used and ways to limit/eliminate any data migration issues.

Plugin update: Custom Fields – 1.3.1

The 1.3.1 minor Plugin update for Custom Fields adds support for the TinyMCE editor on a new ‘Textarea (with Editor)” custom field. As this is a minor Plugin update I may adjust this to being an optional checkbox for the ‘Textarea’ type in the future; what do you think?

I’ve got a quiz too, what’s the best way to present the Textarea custom field on the Single Product template, currently there is the custom field label followed by the custom field contents. Here’s a sample layout I’m considering:

Biography:
This is my biography, on a new line, not like other custom fields.

As usual support is included for WP e-Commerce 3.7 and 3.8. Jump over to the Plugin detail page for more information.
